IFAKARA CHILDREN HEALING HANDS is a non-government organization that is charitable and has its headquarters in Ifakara, Tanzania works relentlessly to improve the lives of children, particularly to prevent mother – to – child HIV transmission, we are registered under the Non – Governmental Organization Act, 2002 with registration NO. 12NGO/R/8223.
In ifakara, Morogoro region, Tanzania, the HIV prevalence rate among adults aged 15-49 is 4.6%,with women facing higher rates than men (ihi.or.tz). This disparity contributes to significant challenges in preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV. Despite advancement remains inconsistent, leading to avoidable new HIV infections among infants Recognizing these challenges, our organization is committed to reducing mother to child HIV transmission in Ifakara.
We focus on enhancing awareness, improving healthcare access, and ensuring the consistent implementation of preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV guidelines. By empowering communities and strengthening healthcare systems, we aim to protect future generations from HIV. The vision is to eliminate mother to child HIV transmission, ensuring all children are born free from HIV, empowering mothers with education care and accessible health care services
To promote the translation of knowledge into practice through innovation, capacity-building models that
target health – care providers and community role players involved in material, neonatal, child and
women’s health and nutrition with a particular focus on family care the treatment of HIV/AIDS.
To support the families and concerned community members in giving the most vulnerable children
(MVC)
attention, care, education, skills and psychological support for every aspect of their lives in order to
enhance the children’s overall well-being
